Dominic Hills

About the Artists:

'When painting I am attempting to conceive an underlying abstract rhythm. By using forms that can be recognised as representational, the subject of the paintings can be chosen intuitively and suggest the element of story. The figures and objects in my pictures don’t exist in isolation from the total configuration. The aim of my paintings is to be playful with illusionary space in order to balance the visual noise of pattern or figures.' - Dominic Hills

Dominic Hills was born in 1975. He studied Fine Art at John Moore’s University in Liverpool, and in 2001 attended the Trivandum School of South Indian Mural Painting. Influenced by everything from Post Impressionism to Pop Art, Classicism to Japonism. His ethos is to disclude nothing in his work; he maintains that in art everything matters and nothing should be considered too crass, too commonplace or too passé.

Dominic's paintings play with patterns and light whilst figures bask in his glorious pallete, a rich range of colour filling each canvas. Dominic shows exclusively with Edgar Modern. He exhibits with us at international art fairs and has had three sell out solo shows in the gallery. Dominic has been hailed as someone to watch.
